For each update or episode, there's one long video which is split into multiple clips. All of the clips have a high quality (what they call Hi-Band in earlier updates and Mid-Band later on) and a low quality (56K) version and the 10 most recent episodes also have super high-quality broadband versions as well. There are roughly 15-20 of the high/low quality clips (each right around 2 minutes each) and 3 of the super-duper broadband clips (each about 8-10 minutes each) for each episode. The 56K clips are wmv files and weigh in at 320 x 240 in size with a bit rate of 225-240Kbps. For "modem quality" clips, they look pretty darn nice and are very watchable. They must be using a damn good camera. The Hi-Band/Mid-Band clips are mpegs and 320 x 240 in the early days and then WMV files (448 x 336 at 622Kbps) in later scenes. They're nice and clear, definitely enjoyable on full-screen, especially the more recent stuff. Then we come to the bigass mofos: the broadband clips. These bad boys are encoded at a colossal 1056Kbps and are a whopping 640 x 480 in size. I can only describe these as looking fantastic, close to DVD quality, even when they're on full-screen. Spring Thomas offers up a lot of different picture options for each of her updates. First there are around 200-300 vidcaps from the accompanying video for that particular scene. The caps are actually of better quality than most other amateur's main pics! They're 720 x 480 and very clear. As I said, it must be a damn good camera. Next up, there are hi-resolution photo galleries from each episode. There are typically 150-300 pics here; they're all of excellent quality as you might expect. The size was good at 600 x 800 (I half-expected truly enormous pics of 800 x 1200 or something after the broadband delights of the video section, but I can't really complain). The pics are also cool because a lot of times they include a little more stuff than just the vids contain.
